Amazon + Stanza = What for Canada?

Yesterday’s announcement that Amazon had acquired the eReading App That Could, Stanza, has set keyboards to clacking across the blogosphere (yes, I said blogospherebut I promise I will never, ever call Twitter users “tweeps”, “tweeple” or anything along those lines. A girl’s gotta have a code).

No Country for Old Media: Why Technology Is Important to Small Publishers—BNC Tech Forum '09 Intern Report

Before I joined the BookNet gang as their wily intern, I was (and still am) a coordinating editor at a small literary press. Admittedly, I had seen the electronic book and the online world to some extent, a dystopian literary landscape composed entirely of celebrity scandal pics and text-message shout outs to various boo’s across the cyber-sphere.

Manage Your E-Books with Calibre

I found a new tool this morning that is very intriguing. I have been playing around with it a bit and have found that it isn’t the most intuitive when it comes to usability but you can figure it out easily enough. Calibre is a feature rich e-book manager with a cover flow browsing functionality and network sharing so you can sync your e-book catalogue with the Stanza reader.
