Barnes and Noble has announced that holiday pre-orders for their new eReader, the Nook, has outstripped devices available. So for those of you looking for a shiny eReader under the tree, seems like it will have to be a Nook Kindle.
Does this mean that eReading is taking off in a bigger way than expected? Or is it just the allure of the new and widely publicized gadget driving a spending frenzy? If the former, this could allay some fears about the impact of digital books on the traditional fourth quarter uptick in book buying. A gift book might be able to come in a lot of different packages (some less wrappable than others).
Thanks @meghanmac for the tip.
