BookNet Canada’s 10th annual Tech Forum will be held on April 1, 2016. We encourage professionals in North America and abroad to submit proposals for workshops, presentations, and panels.
For our 2016 conference, we are interested in proposals on the following topics:
- Case studies on innovation in libraries, particularly those that relate to the influence of technology on collections development and maintenance, and those that identify opportunities for both traditional publishing and non-traditional entities to partner with libraries/schools/museums, etc.
- Current research and trends related to higher education
Presentation formats:
Proposals will be considered for workshops, presentations, and panel discussions. Time slots can range from 35-50 minutes for presentations and panels; workshops vary.
Tips for submitting your proposal:
- Tell us about yourself: why would you be the best person to talk about this topic?
- Give us as much detail about your proposed presentation as possible, including how it relates to the book supply chain.
- Remember that these are short presentations, so it’s best to narrow your scope.
- Your presentation can be practical or theoretical, but make sure it contains practical take-aways for the audience.
- Avoid sales pitches.
