Sell more books with better BISAC
Sarah Lawrence and Hannah Johnston, share an overview and update of the BISAC subject classification scheme. The BISAC Subject Headings List, also known as the BISAC Subject Codes List, is a standard used across the North American supply chain to categorize books based on topical content. The Subject Heading applied to a book can determine where the work is shelved in a brick and mortar store, how major online retailers like Amazon categorize it, or the genre(s) under which it can be searched in an internal database. In this webinar you'll learn the best practices for using BISAC to classify book content, uncover codelist updates, and discover how new subject codes are introduced. Finally, Lawrence and Johnston will spotlight a subject heading of particular interest to the Canadian supply chain: codes to identify Indigenous content.
